Gingoog City Water District – Concessionaire to Teller Queuing System
Gingoog City Water District aimed to enhance customer service and streamline the payment process by implementing an automated queuing system for their concessionaires. I developed a custom Queuing System using Laravel 9 and MySQL that replaced the traditional manual call-out process with a digital ticketing and display interface. Concessionaires receive a number upon arrival, which is then queued and displayed on a screen as each teller becomes available. The system manages queue flow in real time, ensuring a smooth, organized, and professional experience for both staff and customers. This digital upgrade not only reduced noise and confusion but also introduced a modern touch to the district’s frontline services.

Client Challenges
Prior to the system, tellers or cashiers manually called out each payer, leading to inefficiencies, overlapping calls, and crowding at the payment counters. This manual process often caused confusion, long waiting times, and frustration among clients, especially during peak hours. Staff were also burdened with maintaining order, which took attention away from their main responsibilities. The absence of a structured queuing mechanism affected service flow and the overall perception of the organization’s efficiency.
Result After Completion
With the new queuing system in place, GCWD’s payment counters became more orderly, efficient, and customer-friendly. Clients now wait comfortably as their numbers are called and displayed clearly on the screen, eliminating the need for verbal announcements. The system significantly improved queue management, reduced waiting time complaints, and allowed staff to focus solely on payment transactions. It also elevated the professionalism and operational flow of the billing area, especially during high-traffic periods.
